Martial arts covers can be manufactured using multiple colors, including borders or competition squares of a different color, all incorporated seamlessly. Logos and school names can also be added for immediate school recognition.
Our 18 oz. durable one piece floor covers are offered two finish options depending on how you choose to secure the cover. Our plain edge cover is secured by sandwiching between or wrapping around boards placed around the perimeter of the area being covered. The Velcro securing option is manufactured with 4” wide Velcro sewn around the perimeter edge. Two types of companion Velcro can be offered with this option. Standard 2” companion or semi-rigid, high impact Velcro with durable plastic backing for more permanent affixation. Logos can be any size and digitally printed directly on the cover. Logos are not a separate decal or piece attached on top of the cover. Our logos offer a continuous smooth surface.
Martial arts covers should always be used in conjunction with a foam base; that’s why Electra Tarp now offers crosslinked EVA polyethylene closed cell foam.
Our 2-lb. density extruded crosslinked foam is 1 & 3/8” thick and provides excellent energy absorption, durability, and improved compression set. This soft foam is resistant and has a strong recovery after compression. Our crosslinked EVA polyethylene closed cell foam is available in 60” x 96” long rolls that weigh 9 lbs. and are neutral in color.
Crosslinked polyethylene foam has similar qualities as extruded, or laminated polyethylene, however, it is more durable and has better tear resistance. Our martial arts foam is the perfect companion to our custom floor covers and is great for any martial arts discipline including:
- Karate
- Judo
- Aikido
- Jiu-Jitsu
- Tae Kwon Do
- Mixed Martial Arts
- Kickboxing and Self-Defense
EVA is Ethyl Vinyl Acetate, which is a commonly used additive and a term used synonymously with crosslinked polyethylene. EVA is a copolymer of ethylene and contains a wide range of VA, an additive that enhances the typical properties such as a tensile tear, elongation, and compression set while providing greater resilience and improved compression.
