Nursery tarps are a see-through, mesh netting used for protecting nursery stock, providing protection from the harsh sun and wind while allowing air and water to pass through. They are also used to protect nursery stock while transporting from the garden center to the planting location.

Nursery tarps provide protection for flowers, trees, sod, mulch, plants, and other cargo during transportation. For example, using a solid tarp to cover sod during transport would retain too much heat ultimately causing burns to the sod. A mesh tarp allows rain and wind to pass through, keeping the sod moist and cool.
